Christine's Super Night

Yesterday Christine was VERY busy. After being in school all day, she got to go to the school Halloween dance, where she enjoyed her first ever slow dance with a boy. Of course at the time she didn't know that all her friends were sitting in the corner watching her and Mark. Since then she has been very embarressed about the whole thing.
After the dance she ran home to hurry and change to go perform in her orchastra's Halloween concert. They played really well for most of the kids only have been playing about 2 months. Christine started playing the violin last year in the 6th grade program. We had to leave really quickly after the beginning orchastra finished playing their 4 pieces to rush over to the church for a night in excellence with the young women. Christine played a solo in this program. She was so nervous that she didn't do her best, but I am very proud of her anyway. This group of YW is so small that their was only 3 girls there (more leaders than youth).

Justin the Bobcat

Last night Justin was awarded his Bobcat in Scouts. He is very excited and has been working very hard at it. In pack meeting they also told a story that happened to Justin yesterday, it is very cute and I want to share it with you. Yesterday my Dad took Amber and Justin out to lunch at Ice Berg, when Justin was returning from the restroom, he saw some money on the floor next to where an elderly couple was sitting having their lunch. Justin picked up the money and gave it to the couple, explaining that he saw it laying on the floor. The man thanked him and tried to give the money back to Justin for being so honest (it was a dime), and Justin replied, Thank you, but I am a boy scout and boy scouts don't expect to get paid for going a good deed. LOL He is so cute and I thought that was just really cute that he happened to do that on the very day that he recieved his first badge in the Scouting program. It just shows that he is really taking to heart the things that he learns. Justin also got to conduct his first flag ceremony last night at the pack metting, he did a great job. I am so proud of him.

Christine has her first concert of the year tonight, at the same time as YW in Excellence at the exact same time that I should be finishing up a huge test in math. Needless to say this is going to be a very busy day. If we can actually manage to pull it all together as planned it will be a miracle.

I will post pictures of Justin's Pack meeting later this week or this weekend. I will have have some great stories and pictures from the Haunted Tour of Salt Lake that we are going to this weekend with Colleen, I can't wait.

My Rant

Ok so I am not usually a very dramatic person, but I am very disillusioned with the world today. I wanted to have a nice day out with my girls, they absolutely love Hannah Montana, Disney's Channels finest star. She is coming in concert to the Delta Center (yes, it will always be the Delta Center to me) on the 27th of this month. I got onto the computer this morning intending to purchase tickets, to my absolute HORROR, I see that the tickets cost an average of $350-400 per ticket. Who is this little teenie bopper and who in their right mind would take 10 to 14 year olds to this concert? I wouldn't pay this amount of money if Elvis was back from the dead and doing only one concert. I absolutely can not comprehend this insanity. I am also really bummed, I really wanted to do this for my girls, I have been really preoccupied for the last while, with work and school and I wanted them to know how much they mean to me even if I am bit short on time. It would have meant a lot to them (and me) to be able to do this together. But no, the money hungry power mad people of the world make it impossible for the average person to be able to enjoy these things with their kids.

AHHH

Okay so I know I just posted, but I just got news that I am soooo excited about. I got accpeted into the U to start on my BA in accounting. I have been so frusterated with the progress that I have been making towards my degree, but at last I feel like I am close. I will graduate in the Spring with my AS in business and now I know that I will be starting in the acocunting program at the U next fall. YIPPEE!!! Sorry to all you BYU fans LOL!!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Okay so I am a day late, but I was running around all day yesterday getting ready for my Dad's big surprise party. Yesterday he turned 65, and at first I did not think that he was going to very gracious about it. Dennis and I went over to Mom and Dad's church to watch the kids in the primary program. That is about the only thing that will get me to church is watching the kids up there. They are so cute and fun to watch. Brayden could hardly keep his eyes open the whole time and kept laying his head down and letting his tongue hang out, I was just waiting for the drooling to start. But all the kids did their parts very well. Justin couldn't always remember all the words and when he was just trying to sing along it was very funny to watch him. Heather taught him a trick a while ago that if you don't know the words just get up there and mouth the word watermelon over and over. I have to say this doesn't work when Justin does it, but the results were very entertaining. Amber had about 10 parts because so many of the other kids either weren't there or didn't want to do, so she got to feel in. Christine said she was just glad that she didn't have to do the programs anymore, but I think that she missed it. After everyone got back from church and we had all the food set out (at this point I think that Dad was wondering what was going on) poeple started to show up. He was very interesting to watch, you would never have known that it was supposed to be a surprise, because he never acted a bit surprised. At 5 the family came over and then at 6 others started showing up. It was cool to see people I haven't seen in a while. They even had Sammy T Clown there. Not dressed up, but he was definately entertaining all the kids with his balloon making abilities. I am not one for crowds and the house was packed, but we survived. Over all it was a good little get together. Hope you had a great day Dad. We love you.

Cutest kids on earth

So I found a few minutes to get some pictures put up. Don't I have the cutest kids on earth, (so maybe I am a little biased) but my niece and nephews are pretty dang cute too. Can you believe that Heather just turned 18, I am getting so old. Dennis brought home a suprise the other night (Tuesday I think), can you guess what an overgrown kid of 32 would bring home. A 3-wheeler, the kids love it and want to ride it every chance they get. Justin crashed it within 2 minutes of riding but he wasn't hurt, luckily there was plenty of grass to help brake his fall. Everything is totally crazy at my house right now, with the grand event of Halloween approaching and the critical decisions of what everyone should be. I think that Justin has already changed his mind around 20 times.
With Halloween approaching Brayden has developed an unsual fear of a monster that he has named "Crusher". It is very entertaining, and mean mommy that I am, chrusher gets used as a motivational tool. This last week Brayden has happily done everything that he has been asked to do so that we won't call crusher to come and talk to him. We have also come up with some truely crazy stories about how crusher eats dirty diapers, hoping that he won't want to wear diapers anymore. He is the most stubborn kid I have ever encountered and absolutely has refused to use the bathroom, at least up until this week. I am really hoping that by Halloween he will FINALLY be potty trained. Well that is about all that is going on with me now, I will post some pictures of the 3 wheeler derby in a day or two. It has been great hearing from so many of you and I look forward to catching up more.

3 Wheelin

Okay so here are the pictures of the night Dennis brought home our new 3-wheeler. As you can see they all got a turn to learn a little about how to ride it. Brayden was not allowed to control it on his own for obvious reason so Daddy is walking along side him, controlling the gas, he might have gotten up to 1 mph. Justin had no reservations about just gunning it so his picture is just himm getting instructions since he wiped out shortly after starting. No injuries and he thought it was "awesome" but I didn't so, he didn't get to ride anymore until he got his helmet and all the safety gear. Amber is such a ham as soon as she saw I was going to take the picture she had to try and look her best. She loves having her picture taken. Chris was so excited she wouldn't stay going slow enough that I could grab a good picture so that one is of her zooming by me. And yes even Dennis had to have a turn in the KIDS toy, you can see how silly he looks riding such a small one. But they all love it, maybe even one of these days they will get me on it, maybe.
